You WILL watch this:

Odds are if you've watched Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Squidbillies, Frisky Dingo, or the Jay Edwards epic Horror/Rock n' Roll/Beach Party film "Stomp! Shout! Scream!," you've heard/seen one Mary Kraft.

If you have, good for you. If not, not so good. Either way, watch this: It's new and it's funny:

Simpson and Snatch: Houseboat Party

Happy Un-memorial Day

Yeah, it's Tuesday now.

Lawl

I finally got around to seeing Clerks 2... after like almost a year. Sounds about right.

Hysterically stuff. They really amped up the shock value from the last one. And the ending really brings things to a close (unless of course Kevin decides he wants to make a part 3.)

I think the funniest parts had to be the Monmouth County, NJ references it had. Since both Kevin Smith and the Quick Stop were/are located in Leonardo, NJ, a lot of the stuff from the movies deal with that area.

A lesser known fact... when Clerks 1 was being filmed I was with my Grandparents just a few short miles away in the Middletown area of Monmouth County. In fact at the very beginning, Dante and Randal are driving on Route 35 in Middletown near the Sears (when you see the Wendy's. That's the Sears mall.) and the liquor store with that giant clown on the sign. Also Pizza Hut and McD's are both next to one another.

Best ref in the movie was Dante mentioning he'd taken classes as Brookdale (which I am currently almost practically done with in getting my graphic design degree in.)

Ahhh... fun stuff.

Hey, Remember the Obscure Early 90's?

I've been pondering things these past couple of days... about how the government is up in arms about random things... games, radio, etc. And I decided to check out stuff on the "classic" Sega CD game Night Trap. Everyone remembers Night Trap, of course... it was the game that sparked a war on games, spearheaded by Senator Joseph Lieberman. Eventually it led to the creation of the ESRB and the games rating systems (E for Everyone, T for Teen, M for Mature, etc. etc.)

The plot of Night Trap is rather simple, yet rather campy... in fact it reads like your average campy horror film:

You are part of a group of... well, basically marines it appears, calling themselves the Special (or Sega depending on which version you're playing) Control Attack Team or S.C.A.T. (naturally, my first thought going in was... "Glad they didn't call it S.K.E.E.T.)

Anyways, the Lieutenant of the group tells you that numerous girls have gone missing from the home of this family. S.C.A.T. has planted an undercover girl (played by the late Dana Plato of Diff'rent Strokes fame) to infiltrate tonight's party to find out what's happening to all these girls. You're in charge of the house's security system which S.C.A.T. tapped into. The catch is: The code is changed at certain times (a color code system is used and the baddies basically yell out what code they plan on changing to.) and you need to know this in order to spring the traps on the other baddies once they come into play.

You end up seeing the family involved: A mother, father, daughter, son, and cousin, then the girls (plus the usual younger bratty kid.) The mother and father leave to visit "The Augers" which you find out later are actually the bad guys who stalk the girls during the game. The Augers (or simply Augs) end up being "half-vampires" as you learn toward the end of the game. They basically look like your average burglar complete with ski masks (you're told by the Mom and Dad... who end up being full-vampires that the Augs slowly peel away if they don't have the proper food... namely blood... to feed them.) to conceal their deformed appearances.

The game appears to be pretty much a find and trap kind of game. You need to trap specific Augs at times (while also watching each monitor for them... which apparently gets tricky since the game plays in real-time.) so they don't kill the girls... by kill I mean one of the Augs carries a device that kind of looks like a Jai Alai stick which wraps around the victim's neck and supposedly drains the victim of blood. So you, the person in charge of the traps, are supposed to prevent this by springing traps on the Augs before they can drain the women-folk. Like I mentioned earlier, the game's footage is rather campy, like your average campy horror film... at one point the girls are in a room singing the game's theme song, though it probably would have suited them better to sing "Yay, we're all gonna die soon." or something like that.

Basically the game offers you a choice... save all the girls (while watching your proverbial ass by keeping an eye on the wiretap that S.C.A.T. has you connected to the security with.) or Game Over. There's also a humorous ending where you can decide to turn on Dana Plato by trapping her after all the Augs and Vamp Family Members are "dead."

I remember hearing about the game when it first came out... allegedly the rumor was that it was banned from stores due to rape and nudity... what I saw on YouTube shocked me....

Female Victim (I say this because by now, there's already one victim... that being one of the S.C.A.T. members tried to infiltrate the house and check the basement, only to be attacked and drained by Augs... not sure if this is something you can stop... like I probably mentioned, i've not played the game... nor do I plan to.) #1 is a girl named Lisa. Lisa decides not to join the Theme Song Singing Slumber Party downstairs and instead chooses to take a shower in the apparently one bathroom inside the rather large (and unnecessary for no other reason than the game) house. While Lisa is running around preparing for her shower, an Aug decides to sneak into the shower. Lisa returns, in what today could be considered a very reasonably harmless nightie. Eventually, Lisa discovers the Aug and in campy horror fashion thinks someone is messing with her, realizes it's something bad, scream, scream, then depending on whether you spring the trap or not (this of course is assuming you didn't.) the Augs grab Lisa and the one with the "device" wraps it around her neck as she's drained of blood. Then Lisa's taken off screen and is apparently dead.

So... if you're keeping score at home... The United States Government got up in arms over a game with no rape, no nudity, virtually no violence basically in an attempt to police video games with the ESRB rating system, while ruining a few programmers, producers, etc. in the process (of course the fact that it was on Sega CD didn't help much either.) But still... I can't help thinking what the government would have done, had a Gears of War or a Grand Theft Auto come out in the early 90's. I imagine they would have grabbed their pitchforks and torches and made a beeline to Epic/Rockstar HQ and sentenced all who had a hand in the making of these games to death by stoning.

Though, of course Rockstar now is actually under fire for that whole Hot Coffee mod debacle... but this is definitely a different scenario altogether. Honestly, if I wanted sex in my GTA, i'd buy GTA: Playboy or something. But the whole thing with Night Trap just gives me a "WTF?!" feeling towards our government. Kinda makes me glad kooks like Fallwell are dead. x_x

A relived memory of my childhood

I've spend the past couple of hours going through Wikipedia... somehow I got involved with the history of NJ, states, governors, where i've lived, my schools, etc. Then I found some interesting stuff about some of the old theme parks that were in the area.

Kid's World in Long Branch, New Jersey.... in the early 80's it was like THE place (next to Great Adventure, of course.) We had closer amusement parks like Keansburg (which is still like one of the only parks still in existence.) I vaguely remember the times I went to Kid's World with various cousins, aunts, uncles, and my mom, dad, and sister.

I only really remember certain things since I was only 5 or 6 at the time... but they're pretty clear...

I remember the Haunted Mansion... probably the creepiest one i've ever been in. I remember walking up a ramp in a small room... some glass floor... a jail cell... and being scared shitless by both the creepy stuff in the rooms... and my dad. x_x (mostly by the fact that he was making scary noises.)

Other stuff I can recall from Kid's World... I remember playing games there... like they had this one with Sesame Street character's on my computer (probably one of my earliest comp experiences, next to LOGO.)

I remember the ball crawl they had... really cool stuff with jets that made the balls seem like they were floating. They also had Rollerracers which were like brand new at the time. In addition I remember my sister trying out the Action Park Go-Karts somewhere nearby. Action Park was another "infamous" theme park... Great waterpark fun, but it had it's fill of fatalities which resulted in it's eventual bankruptcy. It exists now as Mountain Creek (kind of a play on words since it was also where Vernon Valley/Great Gorge exists... get it... Mountains in the Winter, Creeks in the Summer? Meh. I still haven't been to this new park since AP closed in 1996.)

I also remember a cool type of radio controlled area where you can put a quarter into a device attached to a steering wheel and control RC Cars and also Boats for a certain amount of time.

Lastly, I remember being scared (probably mostly in part due to the haunted mansion) by the large costumed characters in the park... mainly Kermit the Frog and Do-Bee from Romper Room and Friends.

Of course in 1987 the most horriffic sight was to be seen... seeing this picture today brought back some bad memories

I remember my mom showing me the paper that morning. It was horrible.... The biggest fire in the history of Long Branch claimed a staple in my (and more than likely hundreds of others) childhoods that day. Apparently faulty wiring plus a gas leak from the local McDonalds were the cause that started this horrific fire. Years later I could've sworn I saw ads for a returning Kid's World... one that seemed more modernized for the upcoming 90's decade. Unfortunately the former owner of Kid's World didn't have the necessary funds to build his new theme park, and the pier where it once stood became home to condos and fancy restaurants. Supposedly they plan on building a new pier nearby with some of the usual beach and food kind of stuff... no word on if it will include an amusement park of sorts yet.

Spidey 3

I just got back from the midnight showing of Spider-Man 3. Excellent film. I honestly think this is the best one yet.

Lot's of interesting stuff... Sam Raimi definitely knew how to put it all together.... though I think the whole Peter-M.J. thing could've been shorter... definitely needed more Venom.... who knows what the future holds, though. :)

...hopefully, the future stops teasing us and gives us the damn Lizard already!

Update on that bar...

It's gone. It was good. Strawberry. Mystery solved. :)

Random thoughts of the moment

Bored.

Kinda sleepy.

I'll probably take a nap in the car for break time.

Still bored, tho.

Not much to do except get American Idol quotes for work.

They make karaoke machines here.

And other neat stuff.

I keep hearing a "WHOOOOSH!" noise coming from one of the machines nearby.

It almost makes me want to giggle because I keep thinking about that episode of Futurama.

Y'know, the one where Bender becomes human and a bajillion pounds overweight.

"WHOOOOOOSH!"

.....

There's a Wegman's Strawberry Fruit & Grain bar on my desk.

I want to eat it now, but i'm waiting til noon.

The longer I wait, hopefully I won't have the shaky feeling I get when I don't eat too much.

I'm not really hungry now.

When I don't eat I get shaky.

Not sure what that's about... maybe a sugar thing or something.

That bar looks really appealing, though.

But still, I will wait.

No one seems to have new news and stuff on their sites.

Not even me :(

So i'm kinda bored. x_x

And a little sleepy.

And... that bar.....

...soon. :)
