My 4th [as] website. (well, techincally my 5th)
I was going to try to post this last night, but my cable went haywire and stopped working... probably from the rather warm spell we had. Anyways....
For those who aren't aware, i'm the head designer of all of those Central sites you see popping up for various [adult swim] shows... with the exception of Aqua Teen Central. My buddy Jeff redesigned it a few years ago (and then a 3rd time when we wanted to make it more interactive) after another less popular and obviously jealous ATHF-based fansite decided to send their resident hacker to exploit the code in the original Aqua Teen Central (BTW: Never use PHP-Nuke if you're looking for an easy cookie-cutter PHP website. It sucks... way too many Brazilians and Turks know how to "hack" your site.)
Anyway, in the past 2 years i've used my various HTMLing skills to design more [as] related sites such as:
Perfect Hair Central -- http://www.actionhotdoggo.com
12 oz. Mouse Central -- http://www.corndogcentral.com
Months before Ozmo Central went into pre-planning, Matt and I started thinking of linking all the sites to one hub... which would eventually become [adult swim] Central. Basically, the idea was to make the sites similar to GameSpy/IGN's "Planet" websites. I.e.: PlanetDoom.com, PlanetHalfLife.com, etc.
It started off slow... mostly because I let Matt do it himself (like he requested) but then I received an e-mail from some DVD company who offered to send us free DVDs of Harvey Birdman V2. Naturally, since it would seem kind of dumb to post a review to a Birdman DVD on an Aqua Teen website, I decided to finish the site on my own in order to post my own review for the site. About a week later I was finished throwing all the necessary content up, as well as the review. I got the free DVD for my troubles... Matt did not cause he was busy humping his X-Box as usual. x_x
After the [as] site was done, I started putting up notes that any site we hadn't yet made COULD be made, and if anyone wanted to come forward and start one (granted they had the appropriate skills) could start one as long as they got our blessing/approval. The first (of hopefully many, so far i've not really gotten anything else requested.) of many came from Ozmo Central staffer Nikki: Frisky Dingo Central -- http://www.babarshouse.com with Nikki doing virtually all the content and your's truly doing the initial html design (plus fan art... that's mine! :D)
At the same time Nikki started planning for FD Central, I had plans for the Squidbillies website... and that's pretty much what I wanted to talk about today (since I already have this up on my LJ.)
Here's the progression of the concept design "sketches" that I did in Photoshop:
Original Design -- January 2007:

I did this with the little screen captions I had from the rough cut I have on ATC.com, plus some random screenshots from eps on YouTube.
Latest Design -- March 2007:

So basically it pays to ask someone within Williams Street if they have a hi-rez version of the Cuyler House. :)
So that's where it stands right now... Nikki asked if she could help, naturally I accepted... her graphics are kick-ass (if you've seen her Antagone fan art on FDC, you'll know what I mean.)
Hopefully the site will be up soon and I can get cracking on the content. We'll see what happens.
